Spray by the Bay Spray ParkThe Spray by the Bay Spray Park is located inside the Bay City State Park and is a great place for kids to cool off and have fun!

The Bay City State Park is a 2,389 acre area which attracts people with varying interests. You are invited to visit for camping, hiking, biking, walking, running, picnics, bird watching, swimming, spray park, nature studies, fishing, concerts, playground. as well as relaxing. Enjoy and learn at the Saginaw Bay Visitor Center which is the home of the Jennison Exhibit Hall, the Wetland Wonders Gift Shop, rotating interpretive displays, audio-visual presentations, learning labs, workshop/meeting rooms and a glass wildlife observation room.
Utilize seven miles of multi-use trails that consist of the Andersen Rail Trail and other trails which take you through forests and to wildlife observation towers in Tobico Marsh, the largest Great Lakes coastal marsh. Barrier free trails also go to the shore of the Saginaw Bay, to picnic shelters and to the Visitor Center. The parks trails are also part of four larger trails systems - the Bay County Riverwalk/Railtrail system, the Saginaw Bay Birding Trail, the Saginaw Bay Blueways Water Trail, and the Iron Belle Trail. During the summer, take advantage of the Spray by the Bay splash park ...the Play by the Bay playscape is open year-round. The park has 3 wi-fi hot spots (Visitor Center, Spray Park, and Campground Host site) and is the only Michigan state park with an Electric Vehicle rapid-charging station, located by the Visitor Center.
Cross country skiing and ice fishing are the most popular winter activities! And yes, you may camp here year-round at the 192-site campground. And let's not forget summertime Archery in the Park ...a youth group educational archery program. So much to see and so much to do year around!
The "Friends of Bay City State Park" is a private non-profit organization established in 1995. (It was originally incorporated as the "Friends of Bay City State Recreation Area"). Its purpose is to provide educational and recreational opportunities to people visiting the Park. The Friends are comprised of concerned citizens who want to support environmental education and help promote our park as a valuable community resource. In order to achieve these goals, we depend on your support through donations, memberships, and volunteer help.
The Friends and the Michigan State Parks have a unique partnership. As a private support organization for the Park, the Friends group sponsors projects and provides services which supplement and complement those offered by Michigan State Parks.

In addition to a Friends membership, you also can donate directly to the many programs, events, and projects affiliated with the Bay City State Park, which exist due to such donations. Friends can make a general donation or specify a favorite project to help. To make a donation to our endowment fund that is used for all of our projects and programs, click the nearby donate button.
