Working Decoy Carving Competition

Presented by Saginaw Bay Decoy Carvers

NOTE:  The Working Decoy Carving Competition is SATURDAY ONLY!
      Competition is judged on the water.

Working Decoy Rules:
     1)  This will not be a people’s choice award. This will be a judged competition
     2)  The competition will be open to all level of carvers.
     3)  Decoys should be simple in construction and durable. Detailed carving and undercut primaries are not allowed.
     4)  Decoys should have a simple paint scheme.
     5)  Decoys need to have a keel and self-right. Decoys will be judged on the water.
     6)  Decoys must be made of wood, cork, or stretched canvas.


The Working Decoy Competition is a 1 (one) day show, Saturday, August 1st, 2015
     *All carvings must be delivered to the Saginaw Bay Visitor's Center, Saturday between 8am-10am
     *Judging will be at 11:30am
     *All Decoys can be picked up and taken home on Saturday after 4pm.

ENTRY FEE:  $5 for 1st decoy/$2 for each additional 

There will be Amateur and Open categories. 

Prizes:
    
Ribbons for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Best Puddle Duck, and Best Diving Duck

       Overall Best Of Show:  $75, Limited Edition Duck Stamp Print, and Ribbon
       
2nd Place Best Of Show:  $50 
       3rd Place Best Of Show:  $25
